How to work with Mturk?

All you have to do is to create an account with Amazon Mechanical Turk. If you have an account with Amazon, then it is easy. Open https://www.mturk.com and login with the e-mail address registered with Amazon. Please refer to the Login page image

After you enter the e-mail address and the password, there is another one option to secure your Amazon Mturk account that is Two-Step Verification. You will receive a Secure Code either via a phone call or via an SMS to the registered mobile number. Please don't share the secure code with anyone. To be in safer side, please change your password once in a month. Once after the Two-Step verification, the page will be directed to the Mturk Dashboard page. Below is an image that clearly shows my earnings with Mechanical Turk. In the below image, there is a button called "Transfer earnings." Once you earn $20.00, you can transfer the money to your bank account. You can also transfer the money to the Amazon Gift Card balance. Well, all of us needs currency for our daily needs, so transfer it to your bank account. ;) Now, please take a look at the below image again. Under HITs (Human Intelligence Tasks) Overview, you can see 1) Approved - The total approved HITs. 2) Approval Rate - Based on the approved HITs, the rate is calculated. 3) Pending - Once the HITs are submitted it will be in pending status until it is approved. 4) Rejected - The total rejected HITs 5) Rejection Rate - Based on the rejections, the rejection rate will be calculated. More the Approval rate, more work you get. All the best! :) You can also see the HITs status submitted on a weekly basis. Under the 'Date', you can click the plus symbol and view the HITs that is submitted, Approved, Rejected, Pending, Rewards for the Submitted HITs, Bonus Rewards and the Total Rewards. Everything is clearly mentioned there on the below image.

Now, let's go ahead and work on the HITs. It is easy. Most of the easiest HITs are transcription HITs. I can help you with the requester that upload transcription HITs. The most easiest one. :D Sometimes I depend upon them to earn more money. I think you are interested to know those requester names. I will introduce them to you soon. Please refer to the below image for other requester.

By clicking on the HITs tab, you will be able to view the above page. There are many HITs available but you can only do the HITs that are available for you to work based on your *location, *language, and *approval rate. Now, let's learn how to work on a HIT. Referring to the above image: 1) In the left hand side, do you see "Shopping Receipts?" Yeah? That's the name of the requester. Click on the "+" symbol for more details of the HIT. 2) They are looking for a worker who is ready to "Extract Data from Shopping Receipts." 3) There are 55 HITs available (Not only for you but also for everyone who works in MTurk). 4) The reward is $0.01. 5) It was submitted or updated by the requester 36 seconds ago. 6) If you want to review the HIT, please click on the "Preview" link. 7) If you want to work on the HIT, please click on the "Accept & Work" button. This applies to all the HITs. Like that requester, there are many other requester. Once you register with Mturk, you will get familiar with few requester. There are few transcription HITs that are submitted by the requester, you can easily finish and earn more money. Below are the list of requester: 1) P9R 2) ScoutIt 3) Amazon Text Transcription 4) Josh Adler 5) Q OCR Most of the time they are available. The rewards starts from $0.01 to $0.12. I mostly prefer ScoutIt 'cause they upload a HIT that is easy and the reward is $0.08. You can search the above mentioned requester name in the search. All the best!
